I got an email today from my domain name registrar (the people whom I register PIZON.COM and other Internet names through).

The message said:

Dear David Pizon,

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN®) recently agreed to reduce their Registrar Transaction Fee from $.25 to $.22.

I was completely floored. They were offering me a refund.

Then I did a quick bit of calculation. Sadly, at this rate I am still 81,671,130 domain names short of retirement.

I saw a pigeon trip today.

So I am in a coffee shop and I order the large "Mexican Dark Roast" coffee.

I say, "I'd like a 20 ounce Mexican."

Then I got to wonder what a 20 ounce Mexican would look like.

I have visions of a little Hispanic leprechaun running around saying: "¡Ay, caramba! They are always after me lucky charms, señor!"

The Forest Service and the National Park Service are hosting a contest for the new "America the Beautiful -- National Land Pass".

The crux of it is if your photo gets chosen it will be the photo featured on the national land pass for national parks and forests. Good for the resume. Good for the soul.

There are some other prizes too... Ford hybrid SUV, new digial cameras, photo gear...

Very cool.

I'm attending a training session for a content management system called Plone. Everything about the presentation seemed to meet my expectations until we got to the topic of web services. In that moment my entire perception of Plone changed.
This is probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
